Highway Truck Driver | Mombasa

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Highway Truck Driver to transport goods efficiently and safely over long distances. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, knowledge of highway safety regulations, and the ability to maintain schedules while ensuring cargo integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a heavy truck safely on highways and long-haul routes.
- Transport goods and materials to assigned destinations on time.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage and ensure safe transit.
- Maintain accurate records of miles driven, fuel usage, and trip details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and report any delays, incidents, or mechanical issues.
- Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any necessary repairs.
- Maintain professional conduct and customer service when interacting with clients.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) – Class A/B with a clean driving record.

- 6 years of experience in long-haul or highway trucking preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations.
- Ability to operate GPS, logbooks, and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads if required.
- Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations on the road.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with refrigerated trucks, flatbeds, or hazardous materials (if applicable).
- Certification in defensive driving or safety training programs.
- Familiarity with truck maintenance and minor repairs.
